Bør vel ikke skremme deg men: Corsair er vel den modellen jeg er minst trygg i nærheten av
Blir den tung er den spesielt vanskelig. Husk å holde mye fart på den til du har prøvd ut hvordan den steiler i trygg høyde.
WW2 skalamodeller har oftest veldig svampete/treg høyderorsrespons siden stabbene var små i forhold til vingen. Men forholdet er kanskje ikke skala på denne?
Corsair ble vel ikke kalt "The Bentwing Bitch" for ingenting
Her er et utklipp fra en manual til en Corsair som kan få deg på rett spor:
The Corsair is designed for those pilots who are
experienced in flying sport models. It is in no
way a trainer. If you do not fell comfortable that
you are able to test fly the airplane don't hesitate
to ask someone for some help getting it tested
out and trimmed out. Typically warbirds, such as
the Corsair, require some different flying techniques
that you might not be familiar with. It is
very important to let the airplane get up to flying
speed before lifting off. Pulling the plane off the
ground too fast will cause the airplane to stall and
crash. You should allow the plane to roll out until
the tail is completely off the ground and flying.
Allow the airplane to roll out about 50 feet more
and gently pull it off the ground and into a shallow
climb out.
In the air, the plane flys like any other sport aerobatic
plane. Loops, rolls, low passes and most
any other maneuvers are all possible. Because it
is a short coupled airplane you must be aware of
high speed stalling. This is when the airplane is at
full power and too much up elevator is input at
once. It causes the airplane to snap. To prevent
this, make sure the elevator is set up to our recommended
test flying and sport flying settings.
When set up to aerobatic settings, be gentle on
the elvator.
When it is time to land always bring the airplane in with a small amount of power. It is not a good habit to just
chop the throttle and dive the airplane to the ground. Just like the real airplanes, gradually reduce power along
with altitude and speed. When you are about 2-3 feet off the ground, reduce power to idle and gently let the
airplane settle onto the runway. Be carefull not to over control.
Kontroller modellen din med "flow, feel og groove" for å sitere en Idol-dommer, hvis navn skal være usagt.
Jeg tror mye henger på at man "flyr" modellen hele tiden, med rolige og skalalike bevegelser. La flyet "bestemme" litt.
Amerikanerene sier: "Don't horse it around".
Det er vel landingene som er skumle med Corsair
Men Corsairen var jo en Naval Fighter og landa på hangarskip, så den kan jo ikke være så ille. Da kom de jo inn med nesa høyt og deisa ned med alle hjul samtidig.
Dette går sikkert kjempefint Jippe. Skalafly er digg.
Disse flya kan en nok ta 3 punkts landinger med men da må vingebelastninga vere relavtiv lav, min erfaring var med en 15 Dogfigther som var for tung (fy og gjøse den fløy pent i lufta bare en var forsiktig men Takeoff og landing var hot eller snap). Skjønner?

Hei.
Leste disse inleggene før jeg kjøpte min Corsair, og ble litt nervøs.
Men Corsair er et rått fly, så jeg bare måtte skaffe et og prøve ut selv.
Fikk tak i en ARTF F4U Corsair fra Seagull.
VS: 152cm
OS 40 motor.
Det flyr som en drøm, og er rått å se i luften
viktig å ikke ha for lav fart før man er over stripa, men ellers lander og tar den av uten problemer. ( kan flikke ut ved brutal bruk av høyderor i god fart, ellers ingen problemer. )
