    klipping/liming av vakumformed plast

    driver å bygger en flyingstyro p38 lightning. og det er masse deler i vakumformet plast som skal klippes ut og limes sammen for eks. piloten er en for og bak side. er det noen som har noen tips på hvordan få fine skjøter på sånt. da jeg synes det er utrolig vanskelig å få til.

    Jeg pleier å klippe ut delene med saks, så legger jeg et stykke fint sandpapir på en plate og pusser klippekantene rene oppå platen. Dermed får du helt rette skjøter som kan limes med tynn ca.

        1. If you use thin cyano wash the components well in warm soap water first - there are usually oil deposites from the moulding process on the plastic, which stops the cyano from forming a good joint.
        2. It is often possible to cut narrow strips of scrap plastic and glue them on the inside of the joints (pilot or cowling for example) - then it is possible to use crystal clear epoxy (super epoxy for example) to join the parts and have the possibility to use a suitable filler in the joint lines and sand gently to hide the joint lines.
        3. To prepare the edges of the components for joining, clip close to the joint line - glue a sand paper sheet (grade 400) to a backing board (ply or something) and rub the complete joint line flat on the sand paper in a circular motion gently until the joint line is even and free from swarf.
        4. It pays to paint (prime) the finished joint line with matt white acrylic paint and rub down again with 400 wet before finish painting.
