I have been out testing my brand-new sbach, and I am happy to say that it is still in one piece. However, it quickly turned out that the motor solution was due week. Currently I have a 6S battery connected to a 600Kv motor. We first tried a 12x8 propeller which was not really able to get any comfortable it off the ground. After upgrading to a 13x7 propeller I managed to do my maiden flight without trouble, but I hesitate to run full speed (which is 11,000 rpm, and makes the tips break the speed of sound). I think it is evident that I need to reduce the size of the battery or the kv of the motor. What do you think? The model weighs around 3 kg.
Currently I'm thinking of going for an motor around 350-400Kv with a 16x8 or 16x10 propeller. This should give me around 1 kW of power, 5.5 Kg thrust, and around 55A. Does this sound okay?
Please feel free to respond in Norwegian.
