    Helicamp 2006 Estonia, 31 July - 6 August 2006

    Place
The Third International Radio Controlled Helicopter Summer Camp, HeliCamp 2006 Estonia, will take place in summer 2006 in Estonia. Once again it will be staged at an old abandoned Soviet military airbase near the city of Haapsalu, on 31 July - 6 August 2006. The location is about 100km from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on a beautiful coastal area in western Estonia.

    Participants
This non-profit event is staged by RC pilots for RC pilots, model helicopter fans and their families. We don't sell tickets for spectators. We expect people to come not only from Estonia, but from many different countries - and not only professional flyers and competitors, but people with absolutely any level of skill and experience with RC helicopters are very much welcome!

    Duration
Located in the 2006 event calendar immediately between the 3DMasters and the 2006 European F3C Helicopter Championships, both held in England, this year we consider Helicamp to be ideal for overseas pilots to get as much as possible from European Model Helicopter highlights in 2006. For that reason, arrival day is planned for Monday, but you can attend within the week on whatever day you like - just select the best suitable accommodation option from the registration form and supply your arrival and departure days. However, we recommend that you attend on Monday and reserve Sunday as a Departure Day - there is the possibility of using the field all day long and, as there are a lot of alternate activities available, we guarantee that you will run out of time anyway The real model helicopter event will be almost a week long (Tue-Sat), including two full days of competition (a lot of "games" just for fun, but also FAI F3C, Eurosport, and Popular schedules are planned) on Fri-Sat. On Sunday the field can also be used.

    Information
This web page will be the only source of information updates. The news page will be updated ASAP. All participants from previous years of HeliCamp will receive personal invitations via email, but in addition, several forums starting off with RunRyder, and including several Scandinavian forums and mailing lists, will be updated. Still, we would be very grateful if you could personally take control of organising your own country's "team" for participation. So, it would be very nice if you could forward this information to our friends and flying buddies in your county - and beyond.

    Feedback and registering
We will be very grateful to see any kind of feedback in our mailbox. Please also be aware that for organisational reasons we need to arrange pre-registration for the event, so registration fees have huge "early bird" discounts - to enable a better-organised event. Registration is handled electronically, so please use the registration page.

PS. The official event webpage http://www.heli-web.com/helicamp/ will be updated and the online registering will start soon. All news related to the event will be published on official webpage only. So, please check often

    with Best Regards,
    on behalf of Organizing Team,

    Hello heli pilots in Norway!

We stronlgy support this event, as cooperation with the Baltic countries is a primary goal for the Norwegian Air Sports Federation (NLF).
Personally I can promote Estonia as a friendly, nice, and not at least cheap country to have a vacation (for us Norwegians). And I have been there some 6-7 times.
You get there by Estonian Air (from NOK 560 one way if you book early), or by ferry from Stockholm.
You can get a nice hotel from NOK 200/night, and a good meal with everything for the same amount.
    What are you waiting for!

Nice to see, there is some discussion going regarding that matter. Nice! I myself plan to visit 3DMasters too, so we have started the Helicamp event in such way everybody manages to get back from 3DMasters, refuel helis , and travel to Estonia.

Gazoline in Estonia is still guite cheap, so at last finns are tanking in Statoil here (0.89 eur/litre) and stating that this can cover ferry costs (to be honest, ferry from Helisinki is almost zero cost too. Not taking account, how much cheaper beer is But you can come also using either a) Västervik - Paldiski (it is even somewhat closer to Haapsalu compared to Tallinn) or b) Stockholm - Tallinn ferry lines. Haapsalu is about 95 km from Tallinn, about 75 from Paldiski, i think.

So, who will be the 1st from Norwegen, who will register?

              Regards,
              Indrek
